I was born in Smith Falls, Ontario, but have lived most of my life in the Sarnia Area. During one period of time away from Sarnia, while serving with the Canadian Armed Forces, at CFB Petawawa, I met and fell in love with Glenda Lorrie Thompson. We found out that her whole family was being transferred by the military to the west coast, and I was being released from the service, for medical reasons. We became engaged. Our engagement lasted six months by this time and we decided to get married instead of her going out west and us being apart, so we were married April 13th, 1974 in the base chapel. Melissa Marie Scheel was born April 15th, 1976 in Chatham, Ontario. Joseph William Scheel Jr. (Bill) was born August 30th, 1977 in London, Ontario. Thus, our branch of the Family tree was started.
